The CRA My Account is a secure online portal provided by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) where individuals can manage their tax-related affairs and benefits information. It offers various services such as viewing tax returns, notices of assessment, benefit payments, and managing direct deposits.
Having a CRA My Account is beneficial for accessing services like Auto-fill my Return (AFR), which helps automatically populate parts of your tax return with information the CRA has on file. It’s a convenient way to stay updated on your tax and benefit details throughout the year.
Through the CRA My Account, you have access to a range of services including:
- Detailed updates on your tax return status
- Detailed notice of assessment or reassessment
- Detailed RRSP and Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)
- Tracking and management of unused credits from previous years (e.g., tuition amounts, RRSP contributions)
- Monitoring of benefits status and payments
- View tax slips
- Managing direct deposit preferences
- Audit enquiries
- Updating personal information
- Receiving electronic correspondence
This is not a complete list. Refer to the CRA website for a full list of services you can access with the My Account.
